Alfred Estep: Is currently the Director of Bands at Johns Creek High School in Johns Creek, Georgia. 2009 marked the inaugural year for the Johns Creek Band, opening with 56 members, and with the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, the band has grown to 103 members. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Estep served as Director of Bands at Roswell High School in Roswell, Georgia from 2001 – 2009. Mr. Estep is a veteran teacher of 28 years in Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina. His concert bands and marching bands have consistently earned superior ratings and numerous championship accolades at a variety festivals and competitions. The number of awards includes 400 Marching Band Awards, 23 Grand Championships, 34 Concert Band Superior Ratings, and 5 Regional Grand Championships. Mr. Estep holds a Bachelors Degree from East Tennessee State University and a Masters Degree from The University of Alabama. His professional affiliations include, Georgia Music Educators Association, Phi Beta Mu, American School Band Directors Association, and Phi Mu Alpha. He has served GMEA as the District V Chairman, and during 2006-2008, he served as District V Band Chair. He has also served as host for various band events, such as, District Large Group Performance Evaluation, Solo and Ensemble, and several marching band festivals/competitions. In addition, he has served on the North Carolina Band Curriculum Revision Committee, and the GMEA Band Adjudication Committee. Mr. Estep is an active clinician and adjudicator in Georgia and throughout the southeast.
